Meet the Team: Randi Griffith
What is your role in DALRT, Inc.?
Randi: I oversee the Marketing Operations of our business. This includes new product launches, pricing, store events, community engagement, and the overall guest perspective of the store.
Where did you start in the business and where are you now?
Randi: I started as an infant. I was literally born and raised in Dunkin’. My parents worked a lot when I was a baby so it was not uncommon for me to be in an infant seat in the back room. My dad tells me all the time how he used to put maple icing on my pacifier when I was fussy. (My, how rules have changed!) I knew from childhood I wanted to work in the family business.
I actually started working at the age of 12. I would accompany my parents to our location, which was at that time in Butler, and work front counter. From there it became a regular weekend thing. By my senior year in high school, I was working both weekend days and 3-4 night shifts a week. When I graduated high school I became the restaurant manager of our Mill Street location at the age of 17!
For a brief period in the early 2000’s, I did leave and worked for Walmart and then moved on to a privately owned fashion bath company. Working here for the family business has always been my dream. While I enjoyed the life experience of working elsewhere, there is nothing I love better than Dunkin’ and what we do.
What are you the most passionate about in your work?
Randi: People; Our guests, team and community. I love that our business has the ability to impact people’s lives. Even if it’s the daily ritual of a cup of coffee. We have the ability to impact people in a positive way every day. Our company is committed to supporting our communities through partnerships, fundraising, and helping where we can.
How much has the business grown and did you see that coming?
Randi: When I was young, the business was hot coffee and donuts without a drive thru. To be here for the new innovation and evolution over the years of Dunkin’ as a brand has been an awesome experience. In addition, the way we’ve developed our team over the years and have a corporation structure. It’s surreal to me sometimes that we are here when it started as more of a “mom and pop” style experience.
What advice do you have for young people just getting started?
Randi: No matter where you work or what you do, give it the best you have. Be true to yourself and your personality. Find joy in your work. It’s not about doing what you love. It’s about loving what you do!
How do you stay motivated and inspired when things get tough?
Randi: When times are tough I do my best to learn from it and grow by adapting and changing. Sometimes it’s a mindset, sometimes it’s a process. Either way I know that I can impact a situation by evaluating it and doing my best to adapt and grow.
