Erie, PA - August 19, 2021: For the third year, DALRT Inc. donated backpacks full of school supplies for students and basket bundles for local teachers. Noticing a need among their own employees, the owners of the Dunkin’ franchise wanted to find a way to ease the burden of purchasing school supplies.
Community Support
Doubling their goal over the prior year of raising $4,050 to support 50 students and 50 teachers, the Dunkin’ franchise announces community donations reached a record $8,500. This year, funds were accepted in DALRT’s Erie, Edinboro, Meadville, Grove City, and New Castle, PA locations. DALRT Inc. donates both the backpacks for the students and the $25 Dunkin gift cards for each teacher for the annual program.
“As we continue to build our Dunkin’ presence in Erie, we are committed to supporting our community and that also includes teachers, says Randi Griffith, Marketing Director of DALRT Inc. “This year, 75% of baskets distributed were donated to teachers in Erie area schools and included a $50 Walmart gift card. 40% of the student backpacks were delivered to Erie students.”
Committed to Help
“One of our employees was talking about how much they needed to purchase for their kids for back-to-school and we were just in awe of how much. We really wanted to help not only our employees with students but also the community at large,” says Taylor Walters, Director of HR, DALRT Inc.
“We care about our community and those who serve our community. We have been delighted by the generosity and results of this year’s efforts,” adds Griffith.
The DALRT owners also announce educators will receive 10% off their purchase when they show their school ID in the month of September.
