DALRT Inc. Allocates $95,000 in Tax Relief Benefit to Employees
New Castle, PA - September 29, 2021: Local Dunkin’ franchise DALRT, Inc. is passing forward $95,000 in total to their employees from their Employee Retention Credit refund, a tax benefit for eligible business owners who kept people employed during the pandemic.
“Since there have been minimal government benefits for those who have remained working, we wanted to pass this forward to our employees,” says Taylor Walters, co-owner and Director of Human Resources.
With staffing shortages and through the pandemic, the family business has seen it’s employees work even harder to keep everything running.
In all, 146 active employees received a bonus ranging from $50 to $1,500. Bonuses were given based on how many hours an employee worked within the qualifying time frame. 78% of DALRT Inc.’s Dunkin crew received a bonus.
“I know for a fact now that we're going to have an awesome Christmas and be able to set some aside in case something breaks. I love that I can use the bonus for bills,” shared Gracie Buxton, a baker with DALRT, Inc. for over four years.
“I don’t hear too many employers that are giving bonuses to their workers,” Buxton added. “It was really hard in the beginning of the pandemic to work because everyone was scared but then we still had to have everything done as fast as we could, even if we had less workers. It’s nice that they are sharing with us.”
The Employee Retention Credit is a refundable tax credit against certain employment taxes equal to 50% of the qualified wages an eligible employer pays to employees after March 12, 2020, and before January 1, 2021.
